Photocopies on Metal

To make these works I used a photocopier as a camera. With it I photographed 3-dimensional objects. Images were printed on transfer paper then heat-transferred to metal grounds. (ie. The image is on the metal; there is no paper layer.) Because of the glow of the metal and the soft focus of the images many of these works look like X-rays (another body/sickness/healing reference). The process of making these works was fast and repetitive. In the making of Yarn for example the same tangle of upholstery cording was lifted, dropped and photocopied 50 times. Each successive image was slightly different than the preceding one. Images are ‘size as’. Scale was not manipulated.
